I don't think it matters whether it was remembered or not. It promoted a movie AND an album, which eventually went diamond.

EXACTLY. That's why this song disappointed me at the end, i was hoping for something different after all this time. But no, she took the safe and generic road... Let's see the rest of the album but i'm not too hopeful. Maybe i'll be surprised.
Skyfall is clearly the better song and deserve way more success. End of story.
