I can tell you why Kiesza is nominated, she was a MTV Push act, those acts always get nominations here and there. RedFoo is involved with the EMAs for teh past year whether nominee, performer or as presenter, so yeah they also give him some attention.
The thing is that the EMAs are focusd on EU succes. Nicole always focuses her promo on the UK, so YL was released in Europe, but it didn't do well beside UK, so they rather nominate acts that either have critical acclaim or with actual chart succes since the general public actually cares about those acts.
MTV didn't boycotted her, MTV just acts in reality for a big part, since sadly Nicole hasn't done anything worthy to nominate her. No viral hit, not channeling a cultural problem or society problem, she has no smash hit, there is no reason to nominate her.
Aslong as Nicole and her team are so passive with her promo, releases and other stuff, she will never be nominated for any award on those big scales.
It could be easy her biggest hit in Europe maybe even in USA.
