It just makes me upset when someone like Havana brown gets a top 20 hit in the US being a no one and marina that has a much larger fanbase than Havana (yes even after Havana got the hit) and marina is so much better. If radio would play marina she would smash without a doubt

I feel you. I have a lot of problems imagining the Electra Heart album as a whole without thinking of enormous roots with bleach blonde hair . They are one and the same! She crafted such a perfect image. It's genius.

Also, she can't drop singles in the UK and then dart off to America. Marina still hasn't really cracked the UK when you compare her to the other indie girl contemporaries. Electra Heart itself is fine as a pop album with good accessible singles, so that wasn't the problem. What's jarring to me is how her record label let her record a big pop album with expensive producers but can't cough up the cash to back her up? You don't really hear of people getting dropped nowadays, if worst comes to worst, it'll be "mutual agreement" - though 679 are like in love with Marina, so her future is hard to predict. In some ways this era has done wonders for Marina. But I imagine her label were expecting her to smash this era and she hasn't..

Exactly, she is still an unknown in the UK and they're trying to break America. With a properly thought out release strategy in the UK they could have made EH a big success for her and then moved on to the rest of the world.

If 679 are allowed to keep her on, I expect Atlantic will make sure budget is tight for the next album.

What the eff with that screencap LOL well the gays will love it at least! I don't wanna judge the video already with only one screencap but this may be my least favorite video of the era. Looks bright though! By bright, I mean not like Power & Control. And she looks good. Can't tell how much blonde is in her hair though and I feel like the blonde shouldn't be ditched yet. At least not for the videos.
