I Scott Borchetta isn't worried about Adele, it must mean he knows that her album is coming out after the usual time Taylor starts losing sales, so spring of 2015.

How would Taylor's boss (I guess that's who he is) know anything about Adele's release schedule when Adele's own record label doesn't know yet?

Maybe he was just being "cocky"...I mean,Taylor is going to sell with or without Adele and he must know it,but I don't think it has to do with her release date..

Because he's the label exec., and usually the labels are made known of the release schedules of other labels, even if they're just tentative. So Adele's label could just be telling people that she'll have an album coming out sometime early 2015, not an exact date, and that's why Borchetta isn't that worried.

He's not worried because he knows he doesn't have to.Adele is not even done with 25,her label is letting her taking her time to work and decide if and when she'll be done.

Taylor isn't done with her LP5, either, mind you. We know more about her than Adele ( because let's be real, we know three people Adele's worked with...that's it), but still. You sound like they're not threatened just because Adele's not done and reportedly nobody's bothering her to be done, but in reality both the not actually canceling each other out or Jan. 2015 release explanations make a lot more sense.

Nope,that's not what I meant...They're not threatened because Taylor is gonna sell with or without 25.I was just saying that I don't think that guy has any info about Adele's work that would make him not worried about her release!

Paul Moss was saying that the January 2015 release date came from XL themselves (I believe his exact words were "that's what her label is saying at the moment"), and I'm sure that as the head of a record label, especially one associated with one of the biggest music stars at the moment, Scott Borchetta would know something if what Paul said was true. But I think he was just speaking in general about how Taylor will sell well regardless of whether or not she has to compete with Adele. Do we have a link from when Scott said he wasn't worried about Adele?

January 2015 is coming from the same source that's said multiple different things now. He only knows as much as the label, which isn't very much because like I've said before, the only person who knows when it will be released is Adele. And that'll be when it's finished and she's happy with it. Could be sooner, could be later.

I doubt there's that much more work to be done on the album in terms of writing and recording.
