If it wasn't for Bey's vocal styling and arrangements, they could have ended up like another Jade, MoKenStef, Devine, 702 etc. but they had an angle and something no one else was doing with Bey's rapid fire staccato rap-singing. And it's one of the biggest elements to Bey's musical legacy overall.
I would honestly LOVE if she did actually straight up rap at some point. She's claimed before that if it doesn't have a melody, she can't do it -- I disagree tho. Especially with what she's shown on parts of the current album. The way she flows in the verses isn't unlike what Wayne and Future do on their tracks. I really think she could rap and do it well.

TRUE. I've always said that Bey's vocal stylings and arrangements are made the group stand out. Without her DC wouldn't even have had No, No, No success.
Bey's rapping and flow on Ghost is fantastic I never thought she'd deliver like this...

She didn't need a melody this time.
Bey can ride a beat like the best of em, but until she actually writes a verse as good as the one in Ghosts on her own, she can't join Jay's club and that's the honest truth.
But i've always been here for Rapyoncé.
