Joanne hasn't released any new music in 19 months, yet she still had the most successful celebrity fragrance launch of all time (via Coty) and is STILL able to sell huge amounts of tickets for the tour that's supporting her "flop" album that outsold all of the other artists albums last year sans Adele and they're saying that we should be worried about Gaga flopping with ARTPOP because "no one's here for her anymore," just weeks after her 3 month old fragrance outsold their faves fragrances and just after she outgrossed their faves entire tours, despite that fact that she's only half way through the BTW Ball tour
I think y'all are forgetting that literally the only thing that matters are Billboard #1s.
Doesn't matter if you debuted there for a week and plummeted, or if it was chiefly down to payola fuelled airplay, remixes and selling your single for the price of a chocolate bar...it is the one true measure of success.
Oh, and BTW's 6 weeks at #1 doesn't count...because...well, nobody's here for her anymore and it was crap.
