Well that's what she did with Diamonds, setting herself apart from what the radio played.
It was truly an unexpected move, I think nearly everyone expected another dance lead single from her.
But the main reason Diamonds smashed is the ear-worm hook and the constant repetition of the key-word.
I'm excited to see If she can still score hits If she distances herself from that formula.
