The way Nicki handles promotion for this album from now to the release will definitely effect its debut number. After it's released, word of mouth will carry her through if it's a great album.
You guys keep saying how the decline in album sales will effect Nicki, but fail to acknowledge an important factor that she's also a huge named rapper with a lot of hype around her album right now.
& Josh I've already stated that with enough hype & a big enough name, a Hip Hop artist can easily sell well in the first week.

i know that Wayne can't get a hit anymore without f/ drake and I know tha carter 5 is going to drastically flop despite everyone insisting it'll sell based on brand

No huge rapper with major hype has released this year. Look at who was selling well last year & then come talk to me.
If I'm 100% honest, Nicki's not like other rappers. She's basically 50% rapper, 50% Pop star in the GP's eye. Hip-Hop fans don't view her in the same way as let's say Jay-Z. You can't compare her to other Pop stars, but you can't compare her to other big name rappers either.

That's not true. Waybe's name is just as big as Drake's. He just hasn't released a single as big as previously, but that doesn't mean he can't get a hit anymore. He's just not trying to get a hit, he's just releasing music a la Lana.
A week from now Nicki will finally tweet.
It'll be the iTunes link for the 3rd single/album pre-order.
It creates Chi-Raq type of hype.
Then 2 days later she'll Instagram the album cover, with the caption:
(catchy date, right?)
Then the following week she'll release the video for the 3rd single.
The album sells 250k-300k.

I just don't think it's on lock. And anything above 200K would be a success to me, so I don't expect her to flop.
