Because she's a RAPPER with a huge name. She can easily pull in twice the amount of that female. I don't know if you know much about Hip Hop artists or not but huge rappers with hype around their albums, tend to sell well in the first week.
There's definitely "a way" she could do less than 300K considering the decline in album sales.
"that way" ain't happening IMO. PFF sold a 100k less than PF first week and people hated Starships well the urban community. She now has those fans back and they knows she's rapping. She's doing at least 300k first week and you could bookmark this if you want to.

Ariana existence is dependent on pop radio. Nicki's is not. She hit no.2 on the hot 100 and she's barely top 30 on that format. Jeezy did 100k with NO hit. It;s works differently for urban artist.

In all honesty no it wouldn't, considering how Nicki's a rapper & urban listeners actually buy albums. It would be okay, seeing as PFRR did about the same. But her sells should be increasing from that & not remaining the same.

I get where your doubt comes from seeing as how Ariana's singles sale well, but like everyone else said Ariana is a pop artist. I highly doubt with all the releases (itunes/soundcloud/features/) and the buzz Nicki has got so far for TPP so would put her under the 300k mark. I just can't see it.
