Because lead singles can be the worst on the album as easily as anything else. It's an uninspired and generic track that was made for the express purpose of capitalizing on the Scream and Shout sound and the "low Britney talking voice" gimmick, it's nothing like the rest of the album.

Britney Jean showcases an optimism and a positive sound not found on a lot of pop albums like it, without resorting to the Rachel Platten / Tori Kelly kind of model that (no offense Belle) I really hate. It has excellent production, vocal production, and cohesion. It's lighthearted and never serious. Alien in particular is a brilliant pop song, well produced and written and executed.

Britney Jean is a great album.

It's still a bop though, but interesting. I'll keep this in mind when I listen to it later
