I feel like you're viewing it like "LL or bust". I think either LL or WoA have the same smash potential, with WoA given more leverage due to radio preference.

Katy isn't awful at choosing singles, she just hit a rough patch in general and adopted a "screw it" attitude after everything that went down in her personal life earlier in the year(and it's gross when people talk about the personal lives of celebrities, but I feel like it's a valid excuse here).

Well history has shown that she can separate her personal from the professional while on tour (see marriage breakdown during CDT). Anyways, she's always been good at hiding any personal crap she's going through

Legendary Lovers HAS to be the next single. It's music video would be more epic, her performances would be new and fresh (we've seen WOA on SNL, iTunes Festival), it's got a more universal appeal. I've played both WOA and LL to most of the people i know, LL seems to be the winner.
