Since we're in a pop thread please help me. There was this sweidsh, black woman which had a known songs around the end of the 90's. Does anybody know her or the song?
It would be a shame if we quantified a great pop star by the amount of "hits" they had, as we'd have to ignore someone like Bjork. The strangest creature to grace our screens in quite a while - if not ever - Bjork let her influences enter her bloodstream, and then shed them to create something altogether essential. In her (almost twenty five!) years in the mainstream, she's touched on the romantic, the elusive, the metaphysical, the spiritual, with a grace that's belied by that wild animal that lives in her throat. Couple that with a true artistic vision - quick, name someone who's first name does not begin with M that's done more to push forward the music video as an artform -, and we have someone who is perhaps the most influential being to emerge in the last decade of the twentieth century.
