Anyway, I think they should ask Tina Fey for next year (w/o Amy Poehler because that combo is tired and has been used up too much by TGGs already). Amy can do it solo too, just in another year. And obviously Ellen should do it again eventually, but not next year. Other good contenders would be Julia Louis-Dreyfus or Jimmy Fallon.
(sidenote: I think Julia should do TGGs next year and not the Oscars, though).
Fallon would be a great choice actually. He's really good with skits and is an expert at recovering from a bad joke. NPH just kinda stared at the camera when his jokes fell flat.
That's why I said it too. Birdman is literally the straight male version of Black Swan, while Black Swan is the better movie between the two of them that didn't win BP. Birdman winning just proves academy is sexist
Have you guys actually seen Birdman? The movie is brilliant in every way. The casting of Keaton and Norton was genius as they play almost satirical versions of themselves in real life. Sure it's about a guy with mental health problems- but it was also about relevance, a critique against the critics, a dig against blockbuster movies, and about art. It was a movie done in single-take to simulate a Broadway play and to simulate life (goes one way). And the magic realism elements were beautifully integrated into it as well.
I loved Birdman but poor Boyhood/Linklater. Oh well, at least it won't get backlash. MESS at the best thing about Birdman (Keaton) not winning. Redmayne was great too though so I guess.

If I remember right they asked JLD first this year but she declined their offer so they went with NPH, if they didn't ask someone else before him.
I'm okay with Birdman winning the Best picture.
NPH had some really cringeworthy and unfunny moments. It felt try-hard and stupid at some moments. Ellen>>>>
Patricia's speech was a highlight for me at Oscars. Julliane finally winning her long-time deserved Oscar. The best performance was probably by John Legend and Common.
However, last year's Oscars>>>
