The first time I watched this scene, this went right over my head—just a textbook evil line, meant to make sure that the audience felt just how creepy and powerful Peter was as the revealed alpha. It wasn’t until I just recently rewatched this scene that I realized just how weird this line really is.
At first I assumed Peter knew Stiles’s name because he heard Derek say it on the phone. But, if that was the case, why would Peter say something implying that he’s finally meeting Stiles if he only just learned the kid’s name? It’s not like Derek could have been talking to anyone else on the phone, so Peter wasn’t confirming that he was Stiles. Clearly, he must have heard of Stiles before. But how, and from who?
Does Peter know Stiles from when Derek told him about another one who now knew their secret? Was Stiles first mentioned when Derek told his uncle about the brat who got him arrested?
Could Peter have heard about Stiles from his nephew just a few days prior, when Derek rattled on about that irritating boy whose smell he just couldn’t seem to get out of his head, back when he thought that his uncle was brain dead and thus the perfect person to vent to about all of these unwanted feelings and desires?
what if Jeff planned on making Sterek happen this whole time?
I mean, the episode of Stiles falling on Derek was already filmed months in advanced before the Sterek ship became a thing.
