I wrote this as my Facebook status post. I felt so inspired after watching Hillary's acceptance speech. I wanted to try and convince people on my Facebook who may not be a fan of Hillary to support her this November.
"On a serious note, I want everyone to know that I have always considered myself as an pro-life independent with no party affiliation and I always vote for the person who I best think is qualified to run for a particular office. However, I want to say that after watching the Republican and Democrat conventions, eight nights in total, I am supporting Hillary Clinton's campaign for the Presidency of the United States. Clinton's 40 years of exemplary record of public service to our country from working for the Children's Defense Fund to Secretary of State convinced me that she is the best candidate to win this coming November. Yes, I know Benghazi and the emails scandal happened and should've not happened in the first place. Nonetheless, when you look past those screw-ups and review her track record as a public servant as First Lady of Arkansas and the U.S., as a Senator of NY, and Sec. of State of our GREAT country, you would see that she is extremely qualified to be POTUS compared to a racist, misogynist, and hateful businessman who has no political experiences at all and should not be running at all. Hillary Clinton is not a perfect candidate, but no candidates are perfect. Despite her mistakes, I trust her to lead our country into the next decade of the 21st century. I trust that she will work her hardest to address the serious issues that our country is facing currently. I trust her to keep our relationship with our allies around the world stronger than ever. Finally, I trust her to help make our American society a more inclusive and loving country. I do not agree with everything she said in her campaign and her pro-choice stance, however, I do know that she would make an AMAZING President of the United States of America. It is okay to disagree with me on what I said in this post. That is fine and that is what our democracy is all about! As President Obama said last night, "Don't boo. Vote." Vote for who you think is best qualified to lead our country in an unstable and dark world. Vote for who you think will make our country stronger, not great because our country is already great! Vote for who you think will leave a positive impact for generations to come. Finally, this is why I am proud to say #Imwithher!"
