No. M5 will never have the impact or legacy of Coldplay no matter how many pop hits they get. M5 are not respected anymore and they've basically branded themselves as radio filler. I don't think they'll ever be seriously respected musicians again. And once Adam/the band get much older, I don't see them getting hit after hit anymore. Part of Adam's image is in his looks.
Imagine a group of 40+ year old men keep making pop candy hits like they currently do... it just seems weird. They're very of the moment as a result of Overexposed & V.
Their legacy will always be Songs About Jane. Meanwhile Coldplay have a catalog of ALBUMS and singles that transcend multiple generations and demographics. They're universal & icons of music for the 2000s.
