I used to stan for KC on the Express during the AIEW era. They had lots of insight and tea, but I needed a little more excitement. Throughout Stronger, I just lurked on here until I was able to join. Then, my life changed forever
I voted for her on American idol, my mom refused to buy me Thankful when it came out, but bought my sister it. so naturally I stole it from her and listened to it all the time.
Then when Breakaway came out I was in full stan mode. I remember voting for BTHE on VH1 top 20 daily. And called all my friends over just to watch it.
I started stanning when I heard breakaway and immediately webby to buy thankful and patiently waited for breakaway album to be released. When my December was released it didn't really connect with me and actually thought one minute was one if the better songs on there how wrong was I. Being more mature now I can fully understand and appreciate that album
I discovered Kelly through her performance of 'Since U Been Gone' at some MTV Awards show in 2004 I guess. I can't find the video though, I only remember that she was presented by Alicia Keys.
I remember I was watching it live on TV and liked the song immediately. I wasn't a fan back then, more of a one song lover. But once I heard ' Behind These Hazel Eyes' I fell in love, she just bought me with it.
Nope. AMLT wasn't released in the UK, absolutely nobody knows it's Kelly's song, people are always shocked when I tell them it's not Leona Lewis' song.
I've never heard it on radio or seen the video on TV (outside of Kelly Clarkson countdowns and special things like that)
If I remember rightly, wasn't Kelly's AMLT featured on a holiday advert (Sandals maybe?) just before Leona released her cover?

Same here I was 16 when My December came out. I only loved Never Again, One Minute, Sober, Maybe and How I Feel. The rest was good for me, but I was young and haven't had heartbreak or anything so it really didn't all click like the masterpiece it is.
I left the Express during My December and when I went back during the Stronger era, it's just so different already. Now it looks like an abandoned place.

I was about 16 too when My December came out and I was going through my first heartbreak. I just came out because I fell in love with my straight bestfriend haha. I still remember one night, I was so drunk, I played My December and literally cried myself to sleep. That's why that album will forever be special to me.

I couldn't appreciate My December until I went through a bad spell of depression. It makes you appreciate the album in a completely different way.
Haha kce. I was on there for like 7 years before then. Used to defend that place too when I first started here. This place was just so much funner & in a way, a more intimate way to get to know other stans
I was on KCE but barely posted. This place is great because I finally found KC stans that I can relate too. It's wayyy wayyy more relaxed here than the KCE.
I only ever heard BTHE when Kelly was in her BA era. But I never knew who she really was until I started lurking this base (November 2012) . That's when I became a stan because of her personality and the story behind a lot of her songs.
