Not to be pessimistic, but the US will never work for her at this point, even if she would be side kick on Ellen and Fallon. UK she will do decently, but radio will keep snubbing her, especially since she gets older, and since on air on sale is hot, especially under the Sony umbrella, I will be suprised if she will more top 10s in the UK, At his point we should already be happy if we get an other single in 2016, but we'll see. Ateast she tries things to keep herself out there.

I get what you mean, but even then she will need to have either a stickwitu or an I hate This Part to serve radio. She still is a pop act and an album full of Run;s or AmenJena's would do worse than BFL

I've come to the conclusion that Nicole is just too good and too talented to be wasted in Pop Music. She is without a doubt the most multi-talented human in the music world. Her voice is so extraordinary. She can use it to create anything she wants. Hence, why she sounds incredible singing every genre there is.

I've been watching Nicole videos for like, weeks now. And this woman is BEYOND this world.

She sings ROCK, and people say ROCK should be her genre.
She sings OPERA and people say Theater should be her genre.

She is a vocal chameleon. And we keep saying she needs to find her sound, she needs to stick with one genre.
WHY?

This woman leaves and breaths music. When she says she is showing another side of her, she is INDEED showing another side of her. Her albums should be a compilation of all genres. I get that this could hurt her sales, but she is speaking to ALL the demographics, to ALL the genre fans.

I've been following Nicole for so many years now. And she is without a doubt the most hard working woman i've ever seen.

We drag her and complain that she is taking her time to release music, or **** like that. But in all seriousness, tell me if she has even disappeared for more than a month? She is working NON STOP. Weather its on a show, or a play, or her music, she's been in this business for like, 15 years and she has never stopped working her ass off.
This woman deserves all the respect and success in the world.

And she should NOT be seeking that in the lame Pop Music. They don't respect her for what she is. Acts like kesha, and Katy, and Britney, and Rihanna who are so much less talented than her get so much exposure.

And Nicole stays looking like a fool, trying to break into the standards.

Yes, i love her sultry, sexy stuff. But she is just so much more than that.

She took a role in Rent, Maureen(first played by the iconic Idina Menzel) and took it to the next level. I might even her her Over The Moon is even better than idina's.
She brought Cats back to RAVING reviews.
She won DWTS with the best dancing we've ever seen.
She showcased her work ethic and incredible talents in I Can Do That.
She showed how awesome and funny her personality is on Bring the Noise, X Factor e.t.c.

I've come to the conclusion that, although PCD made her famous, they created a bad image for Nicole as an individual artist.

We're in 2015 and people still seem shocked at Nicole's voice. Just imagine how frustrating it must be for Nicole.

We already know that PCD made Nicole famous, but created problems in her solo career. For starters, people permanently associate her with that sex siren image (which she still encourages herself) and when a woman is sexy, the public often thinks she's lacking talent. She should move away from that image, but she still keeps it. She should actively show people that she's different from what they think she is.

Then there's the fact that PCD pushed a negative perception of Nicole in terms of her personality; people think she hijacked the group, was selfish and treated the other members poorly. She shouldn't have solo so early and instead pulled a Beyonce; her father made sure that Beyonce waited three albums, let the others sing more and promoted a sisterly image.

As for hard work, so many entertainers work hard so no one's impressed by that. She and her management always make poor decisions. She was on Wendy Williams recently and should have destroyed every false perception of her (can't sing, bullied PCD, etc.), but she keeps failing. She also needs to build an emotional connection with the public showing who she is, but she keeps failing at that too.

Finally, regarding her music, being a pop star doesn't mean she has to act or sound like Kesha and Rihanna. She should craft her own image/style. I agree that she should actively show off her talent. "Run" was a nice try, but too boring to make any waves.

All I want from Nicole music-wise at this point is an international career, I want to see her perform and promote around the world. I want to see her in the USA, UK, France, Japan, etc. Based on the interview on "This Morning" when she says "classic" sound I think she means timeless pop music, Nicole is a pop-artist, I think she's come to a point perhaps that she will be making music without strings attached, just a simple but classic formula.

Of course, as I always say, I think the UK is still Nicole's main market, so it should be prioritised and she shouldn't abandon it, her fanbase is strongest there.

People don't give her enough credit. She's been showing and proving how great of a singer she really is for YEARS now. People just can't accept that, as it seems. Those who genuinely appreciate talent respect her. Browse through a few of her youtube videos and you'll see that.

Over The Moon, Don't Cha at The Artsy, Black Dog, Memory, Her covers (I know I'm no the only one, Toxic), Performing the National Anthem, Her performance on July 4th, Run.

There are just SOOOO many.

She found her sound. Big fat Lie is HER sound. Weather you like the music, the album. It doesn't matter. That's Nicole. That's her story. If you listen to album, track by track, and really LISTEN to it, listen to every lyric, every part of every song, you'll understand her.

I'm glad she's done trying to fit in with what's catchy, or what's popular, or whatever. She needs to to do what SHE wants to do. She is trying to create her legacy. Songs like Poison are downgrading her. And i like Poison, but that's the truth. She is a TRUE artist unlike the majority of successful pop acts nowadays. She should stop caring about success, sales, and charts. And make music that speaks to people. That changes people.

i can tell you from experience, that Nicole has CHANGED me as a person. And i say that with respect and pride. She has made me better. She has taught me that i don't have to fit in the bubble that the society is creating for everyone. She has taught me to respect my self and my worth and know that i deserve MUCH more than i give myself credit for.

Nicole is a LEGEND in my eyes and i so hope people could see Nicole as i see her. As the inspirational, MEGA talented human she is. Whatever she decides to do with her career, i will be 100% behind her.

And i hope she does bring Cars to Broadway. She can really change people's perception of her with that. And there's a huge possibility she can be nominated for a Tony which is HUGE.

I was watching her Over The Moon non stop, every night. I never heard of Rent before Nicole played Maureen. Then, i watched Idina Menzel's Over The Moon, and personally, Nicole's was MUCH better. And it's not just me who's saying that. Die hard Idina fans are saying it as well, and not just them. Just check the comments on youtube. She has all that talent and she should start putting it to good use. Enough with the pop garbage. She is too good for that.

Of course people don't give her enough credit. Perception always rules over reality and the average person is not going to go out of their way to Youtube videos of Nicole singing to get an objective view of the things (and none of those videos you mentioned are some viral hits spreading across the Internet). Like I mentioned in the last response, they think she's the Pussycat stripper and they can't reconcile talent with that image.

As for the rest of the post, I agree. She should forget about making mainstream pop music (for now at least) and focus on what's working for her. She got a Olivier nominations for Cats and she can get a Tony nomination for it too. She should actively try to change the perception of her that way.

Nope. Tricky and The Dream wrote and produced every track except for "Run." Maybe she put some ideas forward, but it is not Nicole's words or productions. As for it being her own personal sound, I doubt it. She just ran towards the urban sound because Internet commentary said she should. She should just do what she feels and put it out there. Clearly she connects to theater so she should stick to that now.
