SM Boy Groups don't do well digitally. Remember Mr. Simple, Keep Your Head Down, Before U Go??? Well look what those respective albums ended up selling
Also Shinhwa is a legendary group making their return after 10 years isn't it expected they'd do better.
Actually the fact this is their comeback album makes it more impressing, the KPop industry moves so fast, and the fans are getting younger. I don't remember Wonder World smashing the charts (after a 2 year hiatus).
& I doubt SHINee's album sales well be that impressing, looking at their their digital performance. They're a young group, not TVXQ. Their single sales should be better.

Exactly. BoA's Hurricane Venus and Wonder Girls' Wonder World, even though they were comeback albums after long years, didn't do THAT well. Actually BoA's hiatus was bigger than Shinhwa's, and she ended up with 55K and a #3 single.
Just checked hanteo again, SHINee is at #2 in the daily chart with 8284 copies. Shinhwa stays completely immobile at #1
^ It's not like SHINee was flopping 8k is pretty much what some groups sell in 1 week, SHINee is selling it in one day.
They're just underperforming digitally.
I didn't say they are flopping.
But they are
J/k, but their single is flopping compared to their standards. All of their previous lead singles after Replay went #1 or #2. SHINee will probably peak at #2 behind the 1-week old song from 2AM. If that's not flopping to SHINee's standards, what is it?

you compare 2 years to 14 years?
not to mention Shinhwa is already a legend, they're one of the most famous idol groups eva
Exactly the point I'm trying to make. They are NOT flopping. And like I said their digital performance is common of SM Boy groups.
But Suju and TVXQ have different fans from SHINee, they target a different audience, that's my point. You can't group them together just because they're on the same company/label. YG artists do better digitally because their fans are younger and their music is more "current". I wouldn't say they're flopping, but def under-performing.
Oh & I just watched One-Dimensional's performance on the Today Show, and the British twinks don't even dance, they just walk awkwardly back & forth across the stage. And the Wanted is like a duplicate of Blue (that other British band from the early 0's) They have the same image and all, I see absolutely nothing new about them. I'd rather go to a Teen FLOP concert, at least they dance and do some sort of choreo.

this is not an excuse. Fin.K.L is a legendary girlgroup and their 2005 digital single flopped. Lee Hyori and Ock Joo Hyun still grab those solo #1's tho.

The whole release seems rushed anyway, we only got like 3 songs and they're promoting for 4 weeks before their Japanese tour starts. It's just a shady attempt to calm shawols down.
Their upcoming full album (which will be released later this year) will do better and snatch every basic wig in the game, I'm sure about that.

And Shinhwa's hiatus was 4 years long, not 14
well, i mean, there's no point in comparing SHINee to Shinhwa
of course Shinhwa wins, hands down
