I have a feeling years from now, or maybe more soon than that, he'll say something in an interview about how he could've done better.
Anyway, I think they should ask Tina Fey for next year (w/o Amy Poehler because that combo is tired and has been used up too much by TGGs already). Amy can do it solo too, just in another year. And obviously Ellen should do it again eventually, but not next year. Other good contenders would be Julia Louis-Dreyfus or Jimmy Fallon.
(sidenote: I think Julia should do TGGs next year and not the Oscars, though).
