Well, people didn't realise the song had been released until late Monday/Tuesday, so it didn't really climb much. I think it was because the song was on the Step Up 3D soundtrack and that didn't sell that much. But as soon as it got going, it hit #1 in no time, it just seemed to be too late to help it.

Should be Top 2 this week though!

I also like how most #1's have only been there for 1-2 weeks. Makes the charts seem more fresh.

Both singles and albums charts look likely to have new champions this Sunday, with Arcade Fire’s The Suburbs (Mercury) likely to top the albums rundown and Ne-Yo’s Beautiful Monster(Mercury) likely to debut at number one on singles.

Singles

Indeed, it could be a very different top five on the singles chart this Sunday, with Flo-Rida featuring David Guetta’s Club Can’t Handle Me (Atlantic), number five in this week’s chart, currently the closest competitor to Beautiful Monster and The Wanted’s All Time Low set to fall several places from the summit.

The Hoosiers’ new single Choices (RCA) should also challenge for a top ten debut.

Albums

Arcade Fire aside, the albums chart looks likely to be considerably more stable than singles this Sunday, with releases from Eminem (Recovery [Interscope]), Plan B (The Defamation of Strickland Banks [679 / Atlantic]), Tom Jones (Praise and Blame [Island]) and Eliza Doolittle (Eliza Doolittle [Parlophone]) all still selling well.

Buckcherry’s All Night Long (Eleven Seven), Chicane’s Giants (Modena), Black Crowes’ Croweology (Silver Arrow) and Best Coast’s Crazy For You (Wichita) should all debut in or around the top 50.
