Regarding ballads, I'm not sure. Adele's "Someone Like You" slayage was scary as hell, though. It destroyed all the bubblegum/electro-trash on the charts. I hope Mimi brings a smash ballad too, of course. I'm just not sure if the general public wants it now. Her midtempo and upetempo songs are doing better lately.
