It's basically about being stuck in a relationship that you don't want to get out of. You'll break up, but you keep coming back. You hope each time it begins again there'll be something new but it never happens. You're so caught up with the highs you have in the relationship you become blind to all the drops and negatives.

Would "addicted" work better than 'stuck' ?

Honestly I've been on such a dilemma with that line. Because the intention of the song was how some people are stuck in relationships they can't get out of, not because they're addicted.
