It tracks a combination of streams and plays from iTunes and such.
What I meant was that last.fm doesn't necessarily correlate with streaming numbers, because there are other factors involved. Scrobbling keeps records of plays in total. Therefore, her streaming potential cant be measured by how many times she's been scrobbled.
Case in point: Tame Impala was the most scrobbled artist in the US last week, yet they've never charted here.
