Dany battling against Euron/Cersei is not fillers.

It's a step towards the Iron Throne. If she reaches the shore immediately everything will be too easy and uninteresting. Like mentioned above, on the land she's unstoppable.

They introduced Euron for a reason and he was mentioned again in episode 9 for a reason.

+ they explicitely mentioned that he is now guided by the God of Sea, so I'm pretty positive sth mythical will also happen on the sea. Maybe some sort of Hurricane or so. It would be quite mindblowing.

Margery was introduced in S2, which she was barely in. That point is invalid.

They didn't introduce him as an antagonist for no reason, they're bound to be using him and his '1000 ships' for something, and the only way I can see them being of any dramatic use would be to meet Dany and co. on the sea. That's probably why they made sure to show the Dornish and Tyrell fleets joining Dany's, because it balances her against Euron's fleet more. He'd have crushed them if it was just Yara and the slavemasters ships she had in her Armada.

inb4 s7 dany will be spending her whole time on sea + flopping after losing and only the s7 last episode will show her finally reaching KL

knowing how slowly her story progresses, theres a high chance this might happen

I think that Dany will first handle Volantis, cause that's one large slave city that is on her way. No way would she pass a city with hundreds of thousands of slaves without freeing them.

After that I think that there'll definitely be a naval battle between Dany/Yara/Theon and Euron and whatever mystical powers he posses.
There has been quite a set up for it.

I just don't know when it'll take place, but I suppose it'll happen before her army lands in Westeros.

So I guess that Dany herself could land in Westeros by episode 2, thanks to her mobility with dragons. But her army will arrive there in episode 2 at earliest, even later (episode 3 or 4) if the Euron confrontation happens before they arrive to Westeros.

Yeah, when there were 6 more seasons to come. That's not the same thing and you certainly should know that.

There are 13 more episodes, yet he was in like 2 scenes of the 10 episodes preceding it.

And Margaery was WAY more important in S2 than Euron in S6. 100% more episodes. She was the queen of one of the kings in the War of the Five Kings. She got multiple scenes where she showed her depths with pragmatically suggesting a weird threesome and "I want to be THE queen."
And she ends the season as the future Queen of the Seven Kingdoms.

Don't come for the queen for your ridiculous argument.

Season 6 was a pretty damn good season for the good guys, but that's not what GoT is about. GoT gives us something then takes it back shortly after in dramatic ways, it's a very bittersweet show. D&D made it pretty obvious that Dany is now unstoppable, but I'm pretty much sure it's only to lure us towards another blow for Dany.

I think once Euron will hear that Dany promised to support Yara’s claim to the Iron Islands over him, he's likely to turn his head towards another queen. If he can't marry this queen, let's go the other one, especially if she's also an enemy of Dany. That means that Cersei and Euron have an enemy in common: Daenerys. I can see Cersei promise to marry Euron in exchange of his fleet. (of course she's going to kill him in his sleep down the road but until then she's going to use him)

Predictions on WiC convinced me that a huge naval battle will happen in Season 7 and Dany will come out weaker:

The show killed Ramsey but they introduced Euron who will basically be the new Ramsey. They have the same ****ed up/sociopath personality. He's going to play very dirty against Dany.

An there's this wild card that could still be introduced in the show:

Books readers know what I'm talking about. I doubt they will though. It would be a disappointing shortcut.

Yeah, Joffrey -> Ramsay -> Euron, it seems. We just can't not have a sadistic douche hanging around.

I think Dany in Westeros will at best serve a Jon Snow revival tea (early in S7 but not the premiere). I could also see them introducing the WW threat to the north while she is delayed at sea, that way she comes in late-season (finale-ish) in time to help out :shrug: now that I think about it, this may be necessary from a narrative standpoint, as as threatening as the WWs are, the north + dany's current force (and hell, probably adding even the Lannisters + euron) would undoubtedly defeat the NK and his horde that we saw, even if taking heavy casualties.

I don't see Dany spending the majority of the season in Essos/Narrow Sea again.
The fight against the WW is season 8 material. In season 7 she'll deal with the political situation in the South (Cersei, Euron etc).

Ugh I hope Cersei, Euron, and the rest of the useless people in King's Landing die in season 7 so we can get the Stark & Targaryen union against the White Walkers by season finale and season 8 starts with their battle and goes on for at least 3 episodes, and the rest of the episodes are for the aftermath of war. And the end.
