Gaga's crossover appeal is very limited. I'm hoping for longevity this time more than huge first week sales.

I'm thinking about ARTPOP debuting with around 350-400K. I would be surprised if she does more, a little disappointed if she does less. Keep in mind that it will probably be a 1st quarter release; on the plus side, she will be touring the country. I'm hoping for huge Japanese numbers to cross a million worldwide, though.

I could see ARTPOP opening with 400+ I would be very surprised if she opened with less. If the lead single smashes the way it should, then I expect it to be a little bit more than 500k.

I just want longevity. The Fame/The Fame Monster Deluxe seem to chart 'eternally,' whereas BTW was here for a minute and left. Sure, BTW dealt some damage (in numbers), but it couldn't stick around.

Hoping ARTPOP can be more than that. I'm guessing Gaga/Interscope will pull out all the stops to prevent this.

Today I was getting excited with all the news from ARTPOP (Telephone continuation, the producers, etc.) and then I just realized that we're still on October 23th

The album will be released in spring 2013 and the first single is not even planned to be released until end of January. Everything is just so far away and Gaga is starting already to hype us

I hope at least that the album release won't be as separate from the singles as was BTW.

Yes she can (especially with the new Billboard rules). But I was talking about total sales, I hope the single will go 4x-5x platinum in the US.

It's a shame that BTW, who opened with 450K in 3 days, still hasn't reached the 4x platinum in the US after a year and a half.
