The era is NOT disappointing because it hasn't even started yet.

The single is NOT flopping because it's only getting started in ONE radio format and it doesn't even have a video or promo.

And the Playboy photoshoot has nothing to do with the era. It's a management rule that any visibility is good visibility. Plaboy got good buzz for their first non-nude issue and Tinashe was in it so she wins. As for the Beyonce / Rihanna / Adele comparison, Rihanna has done a naked photoshoot for an even less known magazine and Beyonce did her fair share of revealing shoots before she established herself. Remember Sports Illustrated? Adele and Tinashe can't be compared

Tinashe is my only fave that's currently releasing music so I want to be excited, but everytime I come in here I see the same old tired comments and they don't even make sense.

Well, Ciara's "Crunk" brand didn't last that long. It's about appealing to the masses. Have you not heard any of Tinashes mixtapes? Trust me she has her OWN lane.
'Player' is something different from all her previous musical effforts... Some of ya'll aren't even giving the song a chance.

I'm perched for this entire era. I love Tinashe and Aquarius was a strong debut that garnered her critical acclaim...but she's kinda awkwardly marketed between Indie R&B artist and mainstream pop princess. I think this era might be more of a transition for her into her appropriate lane, and not so much some breakthrough slayage queen.

Either way it's too soon to tell. Party Favors was wack. Player is cute and generic. So I'll keep perching.
