I think Avril embraces her pop-base more than anything these years, unlike some of her fans. She's very aware that she caters to the mainstream, and she's much less vague when she described her music.
As for being a bitch, naw, she's a genuinely nice person. She doesn't back down when someone else throws the first punch though, like with the Christina event.
