The production is dated. I do like the chorus (not the lyrics) but I think since the chorus isn't big, you especially need the other melodic parts to be catchy and memorable, but they fall flat.

Not gonna lie, this is a guilty pleasure bop. This is not what she needed for a second single though, a lot of the tracks on her new album are duds imo. It actually has me saying she should return to her old sound.
Her and Jason should have released Painkiller imo. It's that holy bop.
