The educational process of dance training enables a dancer to properly execute dance techniques to avoid injury, not to mention the obvious of how to properly do them. Moving with the rhythm of music is called freestyle, a trait that is present in all styles dance. Both the Army and the Hive grossly overestimate the abilities of both artists. I'm well aware of their performances, as I'm an avid fan of both. And as of recent times, Britney has lost all dance ability she had, and Beyoncé still consistently manages to over dance every routine she's given. If dance weren't an educational subject, both of these women would know how to dance properly despite their obvious shortcomings as singers who dance. But alas, they both prove it is.

Yes how thoughtless of me to assume dance existed before the 1600s as you stated. When Africans were banging drums, stomping their feet, and raising their hands to the sky they were dancing they didn't need some white European settler to tell them doing pirouettes is considered real dancing. And no, I've seen the hive consistently place Ciara and Janet above Bey, unlike the Army who insists that Britney is on the same level as 2016 Bey. Please feel free to direct me to a video with times or a gif of beyonce "over dancing" her routines I'd love to see.

[QUOTE=B'Day;33732565]When white people found out what twerking is and added it to the dictionary...
the meaning has been changed obviously. It happens all the time with the languages. So stop.

Ceremonial and tribal dances have techniques and disciplines of their own separate from other styles. And those techniques and disciplines have been preserved thru centuries, and continue to shape dance today. Early Europeans codified dance as we know it today. However, a style like Jazz, which is derived from AFRICAN rhythms, doesn't adhere to the principles of classical European dance. Same with modern dance which is the exact antithesis of ballet. It is still dance based on principle. Janet and Ciara are rightfully placed over Beyoncé and Britney as they're both better dancers. And you want a video of Beyoncé over dancing? Check her Future dance break at Made in America. PERFECT example of what I mean.

Fluidity, rhythm, and "sharp execution" are characteristics of a dance composition, not dance itself. She only has rhythm, the other two are highly debatable. Also, I never said Beyoncé can't dance. I said she's not a dancer, which entails two different meanings.

Please provide examples that allow you to debate that statement.

You are so ignorant to African dance if that's all you think it entails. There are a variety of African dances that are performed for different purposes and with different characteristics attached to them. The way one moves their body and the parts of the body that is utilized varies between country and tribe.

You can't be fluid whilst over dancing.

Britney's choreographies are far more dynamic & complex. Beyonce is a great dancer, but i'd like to see her step out of her stomping zone.
MATM alone is superior to anything Beyonce has ever put together as far as actual dancing is concerned.

That's not an example. If you are going to make a statement saying that her fluidity in movement and sharp execution are debatable, then give me PROOF. Otherwise you're just pressed.

That's a good question, actually.
I'm sure the average person thinks of Britney as a performer and remembers her early stuff, which was obviously all difficult choreography. And then they think of Bey and think of the Superbowl or whatever.
They probably view Bey as more of a spectacle. Like an all-around show: vocals, some choreo, lights, pyro.
And think of Britney as the dancer.

Britney used to be a better performer and dancer than Beyonce but Beyonce is now the better performer and dancer.
This thread is so stupid when obviously the answer is Beyonce.

Being ignorant would entail coming into someone else's conversation and claiming they defined what African dance is.

I would say that beyonces choreographers are more edgy and current.
Britney's choreographies are outdated and they only give her dance moves that worked 15 years ago. Nothing fresh or current.
If she got better choreographers maybe she will have a better reputation as a dancer.
Beyoncé is just so cool and current with her dance moves. Very fresh.

2:10 - 2:20.
Almost lost her balance again from, guess what, over dancing! Not to mention her feet not even being planeted. Guess why?

This is why you think Beyoncé isn't a dancer
Omg her foot moved 2 inches to the right when she dipped, I guess every time Christina does one of those long messy ass runs at the end of a song means she isn't a singer because according to you any mistake means you failed

You're not really proving anything though. None of this is debating her fluidity in movement or sharp execution. Yes on occasion she gets a bit too forceful with her moves, EVERYONE does that, but she's still sharp with her moves. She's always in sync with her backing dancers.
'Lol.'

Also, look closely at 2:20 - 2:25. Notice how the back up dancer's feet are planted while Beyoncé's aren't? Over dancing.
You asked for receipts. You got them. Now you can't refute them.
And this is one of the reasons why dance isn't one of Beyoncé's talents, not one of the reasons why I say she isn't a true dancer.

Just checking, is singing not one of Mariah Carey's talents due to her giving herself nodules from the excessive force on her vocal folds? I just want to really understand your ingenious logic here.
