I feel like people were attacking her for the wrong reasons. There are plenty of people who actually spew hate, and someone doesn't agree with the gay lifestyle, and people are up in arms about it?! She might be ignorant, but she's not malicious or hateful at all and is seemingly quite the opposite

But yeah, read this yesterday. What she said is messy as **** and I don't get how anyone can dismiss her opinion as anything other than ignorant and close-minded. Her music career won't go anywhere, and not just because of this comment. However, when she tries to book gay-friendly events to perform, this comment will come back and bite her on the ass.

Trent, the winner of the last season of American Idol, was asked about this situation and this is what he said.
La'Porsha the other day said, "I don't agree with that lifestyle," referring to LGBT people and the HB1523 bill in Mississippi. Do you have anything to say to weigh in on that?
You know, I was brought up in church. I still go to church. Found a church just around the corner from here and went, and I'm glad I got to go. But I was brought up to treat everyone equally. I come from a restaurant background, and anybody that walks into our restaurant, they can eat there. And I think that you should treat all people equally and respectfully, and that's what I do, and that's what I'm going to continue to do no matter what law is passed. That's where I stand on it. Love all people. Period.

I'm sure she still doesn't agree with homosexuality, as she stated before. I don't care about her PC backtracking. (But I wasn't gonna buy her music anyway, so whatever.)

no no no. just NO.
most parents don't agree with Homosexuality but if they love their children enough they accept them for who they are. My mom definitely isn't comfortable with the thought of gay relationships but she knows im gay and said she would support me in being in a relationship with a guy. Pretty sure she doenst hate me.
