Therefore Sasha will still be more successful as it was more successful globally
Being more successful in 16 countries > being more successful in 10
Sorry

This is one of the weakest arguments I've ever heard on ATRL
So if you sell 50,000 copies between 80 countries, then your album is bigger than an album that sold 10,000,000 copies in one country?
There's literally 0 logic to your argument.

Single Ladies ALONE >>>>
1989 is not as big as some of yall are making it out to be. It's a generic pop album from Taylor Swift that's doing good.

But this is not the case, is it? The difference is minimal, stop
This "50% decrease !1!1!1!1" argument is invalid, if 1989 was released in 2008, it would've outsold The Fame, but which one would still be the bigger era?

Mediatraffic all time songs
114 Shake It Off - Taylor Swift - 2014 - 8.729.000 points
300 Blank Space - Taylor Swift - 2014 - 6.603.000 points
There's no IASF song in the top 377, not even single ladies
And talking about albums, the truth is that they have sold the same WW (US is part of the world) + 1989 is still selling 55K every week + it was released 6 years later
We don't even need to talk about the tours, we all know which one is going to be bigger

But SIO is bigger than any IASF single and the 1989 tour >>>> The I Am Tour.
1989 will outsell IASF by like more than a million copies when all said and done with a 50% market drop.

The lack of logic is astounding. If 1989 was released in 2008, its success would be equal to that of over 12.5M albums sold So again, 1989 is the bigger era I'm just floored at how little argumentative rhetoric you have.

Sure, but then every fanbase use it as a receipt, incuding the hive
Also SL was really local, even IIWAB was bigger, so stop talking like if SL is the song of the decade

impact and single sales are nothing then? being bigger in the us/australia >>> being bigger in 16+ countries, including uk, france, brazil, spain, italy and germany?
The lack of perspective
US isn't the only country in the world
I guess Carrie's Some Hearts era (7.2m total US, 1.5m WW) is bigger than hmm, I Am Sasha Fierce too, right? Because it sold more in the US...

Some Hearts was released in 2005 when albums sales were still huge.
1989 was released ten years later and by using the same climate as IASF's, 1989 would have outsold IASF BOTH in and outside the US. Some Hearts would have not so pointless comparison.

Well I live in Spain, but she will sell more WW, who cares where the sales come from?
In your logic if I sell 1 copy in each country of the world I'm the most global superstar ever

You completely missed what I said.
Selling 10M albums is selling 10M albums to 10M people. It doesn't matter if 100% of those people live in the U.S. or if 30% live in the U.S. and 70% live outside of the U.S. Why does a person only count if they live outside of the U.S.?
1989 is bigger than The Fame now The Fame + Monster was considerably bigger but without the re-release, it's not as big as 1989.

Ahh, so the problem is you don't know the U.S. is part of the world!
The opposite of U.S. sales are sales outside of the U.S., not WW sales
Some Hearts would've been bigger than IA...SF if it had a higher TEAs/SEAs total.
And if 100k people buy your album just in the U.S., then you are bigger globally than someone who sells 50k albums to people from Japan, the U.K., Germany, South Africa, etc. Numbers are objective of man-made zoning distinctions. I don't understand how this is hard to grasp. Can you help me understand what it is that's going over your head?
