This tbh. Left....Right? still has to grow on me some, but I love all of those songs plus 100 Years. I'm kind of in the middle with Right Here Right Now and Work From Home. I think there are good songs in there, but the production kind of screwed them over.
Also any time she tries to go trap the album just crashes to a halt for me. Like Double Tap is a fun promo song/mixtape cut but it doesn't make for a cohesive album. And 1000, Boyz In the Hood, and It Ain't You are just straight up trash. 1000 and BITH sound like throwaway track's from like some background personality on like a Real Housewives or Love and Hip Hop show and IAY has to be the most basic DJ Mustard cut yet.
I still think going R&B was a smart move for her, but I'm hoping she has a more focused vision for the next album. I feel like Jordin could make an album like Teedra Moses' Complex Simplicity and it would be amazing. Or even something like K Michelle's Anybody Wanna Buy a Heart. The production for that album was great and Jordin has a much more pleasant voice than K that would lend to a similar style.
It is probably my least favorite of her 3 albums. Like the good tracks are really good, but the bad tracks are really bad in like an unlistenable way.

I used to love Jordin, her previous albums were great. Throughout the years I kinda lost interest in her and DT and RHRN were horrible choice of singles, so I wasn't sure if I was even gonna check this out but I'm glad I did. I like the second half of the album (Unhappy, Casual Love, Left, Right, They Don't Give, 11:11) + Work From Home.

I agree with most of what you said, except I think "Boyz In the Hood" is cute. 1000 & It Ain't You are definitely the worst on the album. She's just not believable as an "urban" artist to me. 100 Years, Casual Love & Left Right are filler for me. The more R&B, melodic songs on the album (11:11, Tell Him That I Love Him, Silhouette, They Don't Give etc) are the strongest.
I think this album could have been a lot stronger with a couple more revisions.

Part of it for me is how naturally sweet/girlish/whiny her tone can be at times. It clashes with those more urban/ratchet type tracks she wants to do, especially the lyrics (factored in with them just not being good ) It comes off as Disney ish.
Plus the fact we've watched Jordin for years and know how forced this is. Her best asset will always be her voice, and if anything this album highlights that, as the majority of the tracks where it's utilized are the great ones.

To be honest, I do agree that the hard hitting r&b style doesn't work for her. It Ain't You was cool at first, but it aged terribly. And Boyz In The Hood or whatever is pretty bad.
1000 and RN are still my bops though
I'd like something softer from her though. But not generic and watered down. I want more 11 : 11 type of stuff

Finally found the MTV stream and I've loved the new version of Work From Home and 1000 is alright!
Let me bop to Right Here Right Now though.
I'll update with a review after I finish!

I totally agree. She says that she likes that kind of music but that doesn't mean that she should be the one doing it. I don't know how Salaam didn't get her together.

Yeah, I feel like there is a really strong album hiding somewhere in here, but the "urban" songs drag it down. It doesn't help that 1000 is the second track and IAY is the final track because it kind of starts and ends on a sour note. I think even something as simple as better sequencing could help the album.

as for quality i don't like one song so far other than 11:11 but I have to listen to the rest later tonight.
her WORST album don't EVER come for her first two AGAIN liar teller!
as for sales... I haven't checked her position on itunes regularly but she's currently not in the top 200 of itunes so i'm expecting tragedy in a new form

I don't think you're too far off, unfortunately. I think 18k is the best this could possibly do, and that's a stretch.

Agreed.
The good thing about her being with a small label is that she'll probably still get to record a fourth album with them. Hopefully they'll go in a different direction with it.

The album hasn't been released yet, so don't check for it on iTunes yet. It's out on Friday, I believe
And yaaaaaaass stan for the best song of her career

Pretty much. The direction was wrong tbh.
She should either go for a smooth midtempo r&b sound like her cover of How Bout Now and 11 : 11 or go full on soulful or even go the Kelly Clarkson route and HAC friendly music and maybe Battlefield 2.0

She'll be in the 8 - 10k range I believe. Maybe lower. By no means higher.
I have no idea what the label spent for the little promo they did, so I don't know if it will make any profit for them.

Can't you chart based off pre-orders though?

Absolutely. But I think the album has been available for pre-order for weeks (might be wrong) and since there has been no recent high profile promo or an iTunes banner of any sort, there's no reason for the pre-order to be back into the top 200 right now. Let's cross our fingers for Friday though

Still have not heard any of the tracks left, cannot wait to have the album in my hand Friday. Ordered an additional copy on a local store, to have it on Friday, since I don't think the copy I pre-ordered from her website will come sooner than a few weeks from Friday
