Britney Spears - Alien
from "Britney Jean" Listen here
You can always hear when there's a quality producer involved in a track and you can clearly recognize will.i.am was not the main crafter of this. The heartfelt midtempo is probably the fan favourite from the album and also a fave of Britney herself since it's the only non-single she "performed live" this era.
Fifth and final appearance by Britney Spears.

Ariana Grande - One Last Time
from "My Everything" Listen here
The softer side of electropop in her album in opposite to Break Free. The melody owns the whole song from start to finish. I think this will be a single.
Eight out of twelve appearances by Ariana Grande.

Meghan Trainor - All About That Bass
from "Title" Listen here
My instant favourite after the release of the album so I'm not surprised it'll be her next single. Bubbly, groovy. A mixture between Daft Punk and The Weeknd.
Thirteenth out of sixteen appearances by Taylor Swift.

Shakira - Can't Remember to Forget You (feat. Rihanna)
from "Shakira" Listen here
Everyone expected more from this joint effort but this is a pretty hot track. The chorus could've been better and Shakira almost sounds grotesque on some parts of it but I jam to the Locked Out of Heaven-like feel and the rock explosion in the final chorus.

Jessie J, Ariana Grande & Nicki Minaj - Bang Bang
from "Sweet Talker / My Everything" Listen here
This Ariana's single is so over the top but it still works so well, which I would've never expected to, by the way. Great blending between the pipes battle of Jessie and Ariana and the well-crafted verse of Nicki!
Finally a track where Shakira's accent perfectly fits. It's a cinematic song that unfortunately is really underrated, maybe because wasn't the most radio-friendly song after Can't Remember but, to me, this is the best song on her latest album.
Third and final appearance by Shakira.

Taylor Swift - Blank Space
from "1989" Listen here
Taylor stans, don't hate me, I remind you this chart is based on plays and Q4 releases suffered that but they sure have an advantage for next year if the ystand the test of time. As for the song, I love how auto-ironic the lyrics are and the vocal melody is irresistible. Chapeau!
Fourteenth out of sixteen appearances by Taylor Swift.

Ella Henderson - Ghost
from "Chapter One" Listen here
The best debut single for a talent show contestant in forever. Even better, the second single may be even better but couldn't make it here cause I discovered it late in the year. Maybe next year?
"Let me sit this aaaaaass on you".. ok this song is gonna be the pits, I thought at first. Then the soulful and laid-back atmosphere made me change my opinion throughout the song. Not that I like picturing this being about her and Jay but she really pulled it off greatly.

Ariana Grande & The Weeknd - Love Me Harder
from "My Everything" Listen here
Once you get past how creepy are the lyrics, especially when sung by a 12 yo girl, this becomes a bop and then some more. It is some kind of Do What U Want on steroids. Me loves it!
Tenth out of twelve appearances by Ariana Grande.

Miley Cyrus - Adore You
from "Bangerz" Listen here
Here we have the official era killer of Bangerz. This was probably the worst move after she promoted the good girl gone bad image for the first half of the era and it became even worse when that non-sense of a video came out but the song, on itself, it's oh-so-beautiful. It makes my heart melt how convincing she is here, more when you think who she dedicated this to.
Only appearance by Miley Cyrus.

Taylor Swift - Out of The Woods
from "1989" Listen here
Taylor ha XO! The lyrics here are great but the chorus is so repetitive yet hypnotizing that I ended up loving that too. The sense of danger that gets you is something else, if you get hwat I mean, with the drums the backing vocals and all. Well done, Lord!
Fifteenth out of sixteen appearances by Taylor Swift.

Lorde - Glory and Gore
from "Pure Heroine" Listen here
What I love about Lorde's song is how their productions are never overpowering her voice but still happens to be pretty dynamic. G&G is one of the most lively song on the album, probably within Royals and Team.
Lately, Maroon 5's comfort zone seems to be in killer hooks and melodies and the lead single of their new album falls right in the middle of it. If Adam's vocals were a little less annoying on some parts this could've been way higher cause the music is great!
