Anyone who knows anything about WW2 and the Nazis would know this. It's very clear and very obvious. But that's all it is. Imagery. I could understand the outcry if Nicki had used footage of Hitler mass murdering people for his song, but she didn't. There are similarities, but they're NOT the same. Nicki is NOT saying supporting Hitler's views through this, nor is she discriminating ANYONE. People saying, "it's disgusting how anyone could defend this," I say it's irrational to be so offended by something that clearly has no malicious intent.

But she's associating herself with Hitler? Sitting on the throne before an Army with Nazi-like flags beside her. She's trying to emphasize how powerful she is, as powerful as Hitler with the ability to annihilate masses, and that's quite disgusting.

She's basically saying with this video how a boss bitch she is while promoting nazi imagery.
If you don't see nothing wrong with this...

I like it though and I like the track.

the track is essentially self-aggrandising, and you don't see the problem with using nazi imagery alongside this?
good ****ing lord

She's never been about her rap ability or actually having talent and has never truly ever contributed anything meaningful to the music industry in general. Anyway, this is just one of MANY problematic statements that she's made over the years and it's a bit sad that it took her going this far for some to actually notice how vile her and her "artistry" truly is.

The song was awful enough and the lyric video certainly didn't help

sam jay you're not understanding that it's about the context in which she's using the nazi imagery
how would you react to her releasing a song about destroying the competition and using 9/11 imagery?

She should visit Auschwitz and rethink if those streaming points were worth it.

Nothing funnier than pack mentality.
So glad I can actually think for myself and look at the bigger picture. Don't get me wrong, I understand how people can be offended by this. I just hate that most of you aren't even going to pay this any mind once the next scandal pops up, but want to act like you're so damn outraged.

Exactly.
And the audacity for some of you to call us "over sensitive". If you had grandparents who were running from bullets of Nazi soldiers at the age of 5, you'd be "over sensitive" too. Or if you had no family history that was affiliated with the Nazi's and purely just had a good education, a brain and a heart.

Its not a reach. She would have to be extremely dumb not to realize what this video will cause. She did it obviously on purpose to get attention again. The video has nothing to with the song itself, its just another gimmick for Minaj. But she has never been able to get a hit just based on music, so why i am even suprised.
|
What was Super Bass', her biggest hit, gimmick/controversy? Nice try

I'm not drawing an exact parallel here, but Gaga and Bey killed an entire restaurant of people in one of their videos, Rihanna made a very controversial video that not only capitalized on a personal experience of domestic abused but also glorified it in one aspect (yes the end result was her leaving him, but that's not what a lot of people took from the video)
So all I'm saying is that every pop star does things that are questionable and controversial. If the 'Roman Holiday' performance didn't ruin Nicki's career, this certainly will not either

This is not a pack mentality situation
You should be more concerned about your blind stanning...
