Nope, she should be trying doing what she wants to do. Real artists are not trying to please everyone. I get your point, and I would have accepted your comment if you were a Katy Perry stan, but as a Jessie Ware fan, you should know better.

Where is her mixtape sound at.... Thats what I was expecting. I have been a fan since day one. All three of her mix tapes. This isn't what she usually gives. This is just ok and she can do SOOOOO much better. This won't even do nothing for her album and won't push anything she should have released something more mid-tempo but not like 2 On.

I really really like it! and I love ASAP his raps always sound so smooth BUT I dont think this is a single to lead up an album release. Is a really good song but it feels more like a final single.

I enjoyed fierce Tinashe a lil more, am I the only ones who thinks it feels a lil dated? Will buy it anyways to support her.

I don't agree with the rest of your post since I don't give a **** about sales, but this part I agree. Her mixtapes were flawless. I was expecting a more polished sound of that for her debut, but it just seems like pandering now. I think a few of the album cuts will prove us wrong though, I can't see her doing a complete 180. That said, I like Pretend a lot at least. I think it's on par with 2 On

What I said has nothing to do with sales booboo. This won't push her album to do ANYTHING or make anyone check for it. I could careless if it reaches wood tbh. I do want people to get into her tho. And not be like oh she's just a one hit wonder. But I guess we will have to see I know she won't disappoint.

I also work in the music business, and know a label's perspective too. Which is to super serve the folks that will purchase the album. Those same fans that loved "2 On" will likely not like this song. So, they'll become single purchasers ("2 On"), not album purchasers.

Which is why I'm confused by their decision. I guess they're relying on ASAP to get her those Urban plays.

Speaking purely business, not as a fan. I could care less (as a fan) what singles they release.

We shall see w/ first week numbers though.

Her mixtape material was never going to be huge, let's be honest. But for you guys not to be able to hear her mixtapes on this track then I just don't know what you want. I feel like this reminds me a lot of Reverie & In Case We Die. Sounds like a blend of the two. Maybe you should take another listen.
