Keeps Gettin' Better peaked in the top ten for a week, did it not? It is already forgotten. I personally love the song and although it was a minor hit, it couldn't ever be described as a "smash."

Something I'll never really get: Christina fans constantly feel the need to bash Britney's vocal skills and say Christina is the "real talent" in order to satisfy their egos. Britney fans don't love her for her (lack of) vocal prowess. We love her for being her, making the music she does and being a (relatively) excellent performer.

Uhm I only bashed Britney because I could tell she was a hater of Christina and I just wanted to inform her that if britney can't hold a note when shes pushing 30 she is screwed if she expects another decade of being at the top of her game [vocal wise]. But Christina where she sounds[ for the most part] the same she did when she started will have no trouble in the next decade.

Britney's ass gets handed the music, she is one of the most manufactured artist in music. Her music ain't nothing special, and it ain't different, for all I know someone else could have sang her songs and coulda got the same effective, weak emotion, and generic feel. Also Britney fans need to stop saying she is a great dancer, cause most of her dance moves consist of Britney swinging her arms, and not doing much else...

Christina on the other hand is trying SO DESPERATELY to be the next QUEEN like Madonna, but it's already clear that Madonna passed the torch to Britney, what with the kiss, with "Me Against the Music", and with her including her on her latest tour.

What did Christina get out of that? Maybe one little kiss, but did ANYBODY care? NO. All eyes were on Britney and Madonna, and at the end of the day, Christina may have this technically perfect voice, but she will never be remembered for anything other than that, and all of her bland attempts at being a real artist will be forgotten.

I don't think you're getting this. BRITNEY SPEARS IS NOT FAMOUS FOR HER VOCAL SKILLS. They do not decide her success, not one bit. She is famous for being Britney Spears. No matter what she does, she's watched. People want to know about her at all times. Christina is a wallflower by comparison. Christina continues to soldier into irrelevance--when her album is truly a smash and she has another #1 hit, they will be comparable. But right now it's clear that Britney is having another career peak and Christina is struggling to find a direction that fits her.

Britney Spears may not be the Queen of Reinvention, but she will be just as famous as Madonna overall, if not even moreso. If it isn't obvious that she will have an everlasting and monumental career in pop music, then I don't know what is.
