Yeah, well she promised already a more serious album before Prism dropped in the end and no that album has no real variety. It's a pure POP album. Simple as that com on sis.

What I get from reading this interview is that she is tired of running after the no.1s and wants to take more risks and be more "her", which I more than welcome.

I mean, she's saying "transvestite girls", so she's either talking about A: girls who dress up in masculine clothes, B: actual trans girls, or C: misgendering people who dress up in feminine clothes, because they do that.

Either way, (except for A but I doubt it) a mess. Because an actual transgender woman shouldn't be called that word. And she actually said the T word (the slur) before too

Anyways, the thing is whatever she is saying in this interview is in complete contradiction to her image & music. Like its quite easy to see. Even her own fans acknowledge that.

And that statement about not worrying about getting No.1s...umm Ok.

I think she said that bcoz she sees that No.1s are not that easy to get anymore, as 3 of da 5 Prism singles has already flopped or underperformed.

So yeah, lets see what happens in the next era and what direction she takes lol.

It is interesting that she's saying this now that she's had 3 singles miss the top 10 altogether. Best of luck to her though. I hope she stays more true to herself in the future of her career. I think she'll release better music that way, too.

I understand that she wants her team to create a different image for her next era however it's a slippery slope my friends. She's been building her Katy (Keene like) image for quite some time. Her songs hold no value (the ones Capitol decides to release as singles) and it's just fun pop. And people grew to like that from Katy.

Even when she tries to venture into other genres her producers make it as sweet and as sugary as possible. Unless her team is ready to make some drastic changes I don't see her sound evolving any time soon.

The album might hold a ballad or two but just like with 'Prism' those songs will never be chosen as singles and if they do, people will turn their back on her just like they did when 'Unconditionally' underperformed.

This interview seems as though she knows her last era underperformed compared to her previous one and she made peace with it. It seems like she's aware her next era's gonna do even worse (in terms of singles) in my opinion.

Prism does have a lot of variety in terms of influences. Dark Horse is hip-hop, Birthday is disco, Legendary Lovers is ethnic, Choose Your Battles is rock, Walking on Air is dance, there's a few electronic songs and a few ballads. Pretty varied if you ask me, it's not like she made an entire album of EDM music
