Who gives a ****, either enjoy the album and listen to it, or dislike the album and ignore it. I don't get why ATRL is so obsessed with what everyone else thinks about an album/single/artist, if you enjoy it then just enjoy it without seeking approval from everyone else. Geeze.
You're about 5 years too soon to ask about the "impact" Prism has, allow it to settle and (not) inspire people before deciding if it's memorable or not.
All of her singles this era and all of her singles since Cali Gurls in 2010 have gone #1 on the Hot Dance Club Songs Chart (yes, even Birthday and Unconditionally). I'm fairly certain that Disney Channel and Nickelodeon viewers are not the people who are going to 18 and 21+ clubs and requesting her songs.
That "Roar" nomination from the Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards says differently tho but okay. I don't understand why you're so defensive about Katy marketing her music towards children. Just take a deep breath and rise up like a dark horse.

literally everything goes to #1 on the hot dance club songs chart. i could make a song about eating ass with a spoon and it would go #1 on that chart. that is not a receipt.
Pure Heroine is at 2,555,000 and Unapologetic at 3.5M I assume so yes she already outsold Lorde by like 600k and is going to outsell Rihanna and Beyonce.
She outsold like what? 15 pop girls? but you still have to look at who sold more just to bring her down
Just because Katy doesn't fit into your ****** pop world/ATRL doesn't mean she goes unnoticed in the real world. Her song ROAR was the Olympic anthem like how much bigger of an "impact" do you need? And Dark Horse is being played literally every 5 seconds (you can't escape that song) but keep reaching. Y'all sound dumb as ****.

Does that mean that I Knew You Were Trouble, Wrecking Ball and Story Of My Life are also kids songs too?

And Roar was also nominated for a songwriting award at the GRAMMYs. Idc that Katy appeals to children; success is success. But you obviously care, and you don't even like her.
Katy's single's and album's ratio sales are ridiculous. People are here for her quick lil singles, but when it comes for the full package, it seems only 1/7 of them are interested enough. Other girls' ratios are around 1/3 or even 1/2. Why do people refuse to cooperate with Katy? It seems they think they'll enjoy the singles, but don't like it enough to buy the album.
And before Katy Cats excuses, explain me something: at her peak, Gaga was selling singles AND albums; same for Adele, Avril Lavigne, Britney, Beyoncé and pretty much everyone else. Why does Katy only sells singles?
PRISM outsold all of those girls' last albums and will also outsell Beyoncé's last album in the long run. The only women with superior album sales to Katy right now are P!nk and Adele, and arguably Beyoncé. You all run around talking about how Katy is a singles artist, (even though she can clearly sell albums as well considering PRISM was the second best selling album in Australia of 2013 even though it was released in Q4) yet despite this when her albums don't meet YOUR expectations you start asking why she can't sell albums even though you already said that you think she is a singles artist. I'm sure Katy and Capitol are very happy and satisfied with how the album is selling.

Rihanna performed Hard and Rude Boy at the KCAs and Gaga was nominated for a KCA this year
does that mean they appeal to children too? your logic is messed up, just stop.

Exactly but 99% of the anti-Katy posters here think BTW album had a huge "impact" everywhere. When no one but her gays can name 2 songs from that album or uses it now.

What about its two GRAMMY nominations? I can name several songs last year by other pop girls that aren't considered "childish" that were snubbed by the Grammys (Applause, Wrecking Ball....). Just because the song appeals to children doesn't mean its specifically targeted to them.
And Roar was also nominated for a songwriting award at the GRAMMYs. Idc that Katy appeals to children; success is success. But you obviously care, and you don't even like her.
Did she win that Grammy for "Roar" tho. Lets get into the tea.
