So what are the excuses for BOMT, Crazy, Oops etc who came before 2004?
Better yet why are LOT AND BTINH (the flops) above Til The Word Ends, that one was a bigger radio hit by far, so what happened? Illegal radio blockage again?

The state investigation found that Sony BMG, which releases music by Jennifer Lopez, Good Charlotte and Beyoncé Knowles, among others, had provided stations with entertainers for station-affiliated concerts or paid for station equipment or other bills in exchange for having its songs played. It also provided vacations and electronic goods for on-air giveaways in a direct trade for airplay. And it hired independent promoters to funnel money to stations.

The drop in radio play from CiL-Baby Boy-MM&I-NG-COI to Deja Vu makes sense now, huh?

Last month, Rep. Howard L. Berman (D-Mission Hills) urged the Justice Department and the Federal Communications Commission to probe reports that Clear Channel punished stars, such as Britney Spears, by refusing to play their songs on Clear Channel radio stations because the musicians declined to hire the company as their tour promoter.

In a January letter to the Department of Justice and the Federal Communications Commission, Berman called for a probe into Clear Channel after allegations by competitors that the broadcaster and concert promoter had limited airplay of stars like Britney Spears who do not use its concert services.
We insist Clear Channel comply with Rep. Berman and rethink their practices. Punishing an artist for using a different company limits their freedom of choice and makes Clear Channel appear to be a monopoly.

Clearly I'm making this up
As for Bey's current "hits" having more recurrent AI, Britney has released more radio hits after songs like "TTWE" (including IWG and S&S) and has not promoted recently in any form musically. On the flip side, Beyoncé graced the SuperBowl to perform her older hits and create hype for her new release, used her music in multiple commercials and is now slated to perform at the Grammy's. On top of that, Beyoncé has always been a stronger radio artist and her career has always focused more on the promotion of singles than Britney's.
