Lorde has live vocals over Lana? Sorry but her first performances were just as bad as Lizzie's SNL one. Lorde is just as manufactured as Lana, her label groomed her since she was 13. Lorde is more ''respected'' in the U.S. only, and Lana's already catching up here also.

I don't know why you think she's all manufactured, though. She has a very consistent sound through all of her material up until she was signed with her label -- the first that came to my mind being her first version of "Yayo" from years back:

(She is labeled as boring, but you have to keep in mind this is a pop music forum, where the vast majority of the music is upbeat and synthy. In any case, respect doesn't matter. At the end of the day sold records and tours(even small ones) bring the cash, not some people who change their opinion once you become successful. And if it mattered, how come her tour was a success while other girls had to cancel them because their last five attempts flopped and now have to rely on collabs

nobody said they were made for fun, like any song they were made in hope of being hits, but again, that doesn't mean that there was no passion in making them. you're really being a bit ignorant in your thinking that artist can only make music they are passionate about OR make music that is supposed to be succesful. but you can stay being delusional, Lana can stay making quality music and Lorde will be forgotten this time next year so everybody wins
