Charlie! Your year-end is always one of my favs each year. And I have already missed so much. I'll try my best to comment on what I can.

I love that you included Mazzy Star and The Men! Those are albums you don't see on many year-ends around here, so I applaud you! I also like the Paramore record. In the next set, I like Nada Surf, Metric, and what i've heard from Sky's album. In the following set, I love Arctic Monkeys' AM! Daft Punk is of course a year-end staple, and its placement is deserved. But my favourite out of all of the albums listed thus far is SUPERCHUNK! I Hate Music is a tremendous album, and they are one of my very favourite bands. From the write-up, you say you haven't listened to their other stuff? if so, you have tons of great albums and songs ahead of you! They are one of the most consistent bands I can think of, with not one bad album.

I'm not familliar with the artists in the next set, but i'll look them up! Fantastic start, Charlie!

Eh, Atlas Genius album was decent, but it felt like they could have done way more. I hope their next album will be better, I think they've got a lot of potential.

And so, welcome to my Top 20 albums folks. Up next, we have a drone/ambient album, a post rock album, and a folk one, so expect to see a lot of instrumental songs here.

#20. 65Daysofstatic - "Wild Light" (2013)

Yeah, my blurbs are back. This is the one and only post rock album you will find on the whole list. Last time a post rock album charted on one of my favorite albums list was 2 years ago with Explosions In The Sky's, "Take Care, Take Care, Take Care." First time I saw this album was while looking for some new music in November. There was a webpage that would recommend the best released albums of a week, and Wild Light appeared precisely that week as a recommendation. I gave it a listen and hell it was great. At least 50% of the songs of this album gave me chills down my spine, especially its gem, methinks, "Taipei."

#19. The Tallest Man On Earth - "There's No Leaving Now" (2012)

The Tallest Man On Earth is the stage name of the Swedish artist Kristian Matsson. I was first introduced to his music after listening to "1904" on KEXP song of the day, which then ranked at 15 on my 2012 YECD. Then I checked a couple more songs from this album on youtube, which I also liked, so I decided to give the whole album a try. Overall, I found it quite enjoyable, particulary during winter days as many of its songs have just the right feeling of melancholy and nostalgia. Good stuff!

#18. Tim Hecker - "Virgins" (2013)

Now we have the most surprising album of the list. Surprising because until now I still don't know why I like this album so much. Also, as a curious fact, it's the first drone/ambient album that has even ranked on any of my albums lists. I remember I downloaded "Virgins" and album #20 in the exact same day. This one took me a while to like, though, but when it did, it hit hard. To conclude, have some decent headphones, press play, close your eyes and enjoy the trip. Virginal I is a huge stand-out track here.

Time to see the recap- Glad I see Metric’s album here, I like Sky so I might listen to her album as soon as I can, Nada Surf are back? Ok. AM is a great album and so is Random Access Memories. Must hear Atlas Genius’ album.

Oh never heard any of these albums at all in this set. Well, that’s makes this list special since it‘s not the same old thing as everyone has. Hope that the next one have albums that I heard something out of .

Django Django in your last set! I only listened to their album in full recently, but I've loved "Default" for a while now.
I'm going to be honest here and say I haven't heard of any of these albums in this set. But you've sold the Tim Hecker album to me, I'll have to listen to this one pretty soon. Your review makes it sound awesome!
