Your point is invalid. if thats how it works then TBU wont be nominated. It was a great album. the best release this year tbh and the Grammy committee knows that, thats why even if it is not critically acclaimed or a commercial success it is still nominated.

I don't get what's so funny seeing as she's been nominated in this field since she debuted.

And vocal is a term that the Grammy committee use to distinguish it from an instrumental song/record -- not necessarily one's ability to demonstrate them.
