his music is reached out to millions, thus his messages are heavily promoted through his lyrics. because he is a successful male rapper, it seems that his opinions that are clearly discriminatory are dismissed as 'okay' or harmless remarks. in a word that is gradually diminishing the idea of homophobia it is completely unacceptable for someone of such power and influence to say such things. his music, and in particular that song, is reinforcing the acceptance of homophobia when clearly homophobia is an issue that must not be promoted.

Anyone defending him is just as disgusting imo. The fact of the matter is he is a huge influential personality and what he is saying is just going to strengthen peoples homophobia. It is exactly the kind of language used in songs that makes words or stereotypes seems acceptable and tolerant. Anyone who thinks he has a right to degrade them by carrying on using that word needs to grow a pair and realize they don't deserve to be portrayed in popular culture by a slur, or a negative stereotype. well if that's really the case then he's not doing a very good job at trying to portray "f**got" as a common curse word, is he? many members on atrl have a problem with his usage of "f**got" so regardless of his intention for the meaning behind the word it is definitely been interpreted as a way to discriminate gay people. we don't live in a society were it is readily acceptable to say ****** as it is on the same level as bitch, s**t or whatever

I don't even like Eminem but this outrage is contrived and fake. Clearly a case of professional outrage-hustlers craving and wanting to be offended permanently. Eminem mentiones the word gay is his lyric and that is enough for them - the sky is falling and drama needs to be created. Absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with genuine hurt feelings.
