It was number 18 on the end of year Pazz and Jop critics list from 1989. I hope you arent counting retrospect reviews, rather than their initial ones. Alot of critics tend to change their reviews in hinesight years later, given the impact of the album, something metacritic doesnt even track. 92 seems a little steep given that it wasnt even in the top ten of the most acclaimed albums for that year.

I'm not sure about like a prayer, but I have looked up reviews for ray of light from NME, rolling stone, spin, and basically all reputable sources, and I ended up with about 90%, so 87% seems right. And yes they were original reviews. She got a lot of love since true blue came out though, before LAP. so it's believable. she only got really hated during LAV and after erotica..
