No one can take that long of a break anymore. Just look at Christina and Nelly Furtado

She would still do OK but not as well.
Edit: oh 3 or 4 years, no way!

It's possible only if she keeps herself relevant in the media and not completely disappear from the spotlight . The reason Justin Timberlake succeeded after a long break was because he kept himself relevant.

2. Unapologetic? her last album? on what planet? you seem more in the clouds than Rihanna does when she smokes weed.
3. We've gone past the 777 tour you know, were in 2013 now..you know where she has her world tour and adding new dates?
4. No one cares about the opinion of a music student who stans for Adam Lambert.

No. If she went away for 4 years, she would come back as a flop, release a flop album, get fat, everybody would mock her.
After 2 years she would release another album, trying not to flop, but she would flop again and then get skinny.
Then all you bandwagoners would follow her like lost puppies.

Watch the media portray her as "out of control, and erratic" oh WAIT they already do. And with "777" I was referring to Numerology you ****ing idiot. I definitely believe a 4 years break would put her in Mariah 01-04 career path. Instead of comprehending what I said you wanna get mad an come for my fave. Who's yet ANOTHER artist more acclaimed, talented and respected than the herpes infected sea urchin you stan for. I just dont get yall Navy, yall stan for the most UNTALENTED **** in history. Did you expect Diamonds, a ballad from Rihanna who need uptempo dance trash to survive to be that successful? Did anyone expect UA?

I don't think so because she's too replaceable. I find that people, generally speaking, barely even remember she exists despite constantly being on the charts. She doesn't create the level of excitement or anticipation that artists like Gaga or Katy do. She's just... there. But I'm from America and I'm sure the perspective would be a lot different in, say, the UK.
I don't think she would survive in the States, but she could possibly in Europe.

But you have to consider that she has released new music every year since debuting. When her first album bombed, she had a second album ready to go just 6-7 months later. She's obviously maintained a decent level of success over the past 8 years, but that's just it. Decent. Bar Good Girl Gone Bad, she's never really been a force for anyone to reckon with.

She can. Even if she's replaced by someone younger and more marketable, I think she could push her way back to relevance. You can't really have a pop music scene without her anyway.

I came hare to say exactly the same thing. I think she could take 2 years off but more than that no way, people would lose interest.

If Rihanna went on Break for 4 years the anticipation would DISGUSTING!!! Depending on the material it could be the album of the decade, a 2016 release.

I feel like we'll be getting one little thing each year. Maybe even if it's an EP. I just don't think she'll ever take a true hiatus.
She could survive a year or two off. I just don't think it's going to happen.

A 4 years break would be just too much, 1 or 2 years is fine at this point for her.

Not 3-4 years, but 1-2 years wouldn't hurt her. It would probably help her album sales.

It depends if she would just leave and have a media blackout it would be very hard for her to comeback BUT if she stays in the public eye by being in movies, features and even her business ventures she could comeback but of course she would have to work hard. Anyways I believe she should take a 1-2years off it would actually be beneficial for her ATM.

For the record I love Rihanna, I think shes so dope, I love Rated R and Unapologetic. I was 3rd row for her Diamonds Tour here in L.A. and had the best ****ing time...BUT...but but but, I feel like shes stayed as relevant as she has because she never took a break. She never went on hiatus. Shes been on the radio for 8 consecutive years. If she were to ever have taken a 1-3 year break I don't think she couldve come back strong. Maybe now that she literally has so many hits to her name she could afford the luxury of taking a hiatus, maybe. But honestly as much as I love her the quality isn't truly there, shes a quick fix. And a quick fix is easily replaced. Thats just my not so humble opinion, as I said I like her a lot.
