The idea of the self-titled album has grown on me.
I mean, she is promoting her name, it's a pretty good idea tbh. No one seems to care about her anymore, it's something necessary to put her name back to the spotlight.

I find it cute that all these artists are feeling themselves and are brimmed with confidence.
I'm completely here for Avril being a part of the Paramore, Ciara, Demi clique

That's the problem. She's just following these trends. If she doesn't, she appears to be as one.
First, was the YOLO/forever young theme in her first 2 singles. Now, this?

This makes zero sense. Artists have been doing self-titled releases for decades, all for the same reasons. Songs with themes about youth and carefree living have been around for ages as well. There's no "trend" to follow, these are common occurrences that have always been seen in pop music.

Yeah I know. But don't you think 4 or more self-titled album released in a year which aren't their debut albums would go unnoticed? Surely, someone would think there's a trend going on. And the theme of living young and wild has been a theme of tons of songs you hear on the radio the past year but very few before 2010. Sounds like yet another trend.
I don't think self-titled albums is a "trend" and if it were, it's not one that is going to make Avril's album more interesting to anybody It's probably either that she's comfortable and feels really self-empowered at this time in her life or she and Epic too damn lazy to come up with an album title because it's a messy, all-over-the-place album
