As a stan I would say I don't see the SB doing much if she doesn't premiere her new single there...I'm slightly worried since the event is like a week away and we haven't gotten any news on her new single
If it was I hope she brings Gaga on with her. It'd make sense (Madonna, Celo Green, Christina Aguilera- National Anthem) But Nicki performed and after she did got even bigger.
The SB certainly didn't kill Madonna's career in any way. It's likely the only reason GAYL hit the top 10 and the buzz around the halftime performance and aftermath kept her in the news for a solid 5 months leading up to her tour.
Kelly benefited from when she sang the National Anthem at the Superbowl, just so long as you don't suck, I mean, there are +100 million people watching

Did it kill Justin's career? No.
Did it kill Madonna's career? She went on to debut MDNA at number one and have a sold out world tour.
Did it kill MJ's career? No he had many successful albums and singles after the super bowl.
Did it kill BEP's? They had 2 top ten singles and a top ten album after the super bowl.
The only career I can think that it destroyed was Janet's and that's only because of the backlash of her being exposed like that. Like people have said it only solidifies your legendary status.
