I don't believe like you that her musical influence amongst other musicans equals MJ.
But she has something like a " veni, vidi, vici" attitude. It only takes her one SNL performance to give her 2 Grammys. And this is something the music industry recognize and many musican dream of.
A performance of her with 20 million viewers makes more inpact than Madonnas 140 million viewes at the Super Bowl.

She came to the right time on the height of the dance movement in the US. She changed the game of US Radio like "Smells Like Teen Spirit" 20 years before.
The public want to see her and we will see it again in record public viewings at the Oscars.
