I didn't either, but here's an explanation I found in another forum:

SPOILERSIn the future, we become 5-dimensional beings. Time is something that can be manipulated and is not set in stone.
For the beings to exist, Cooper has to go into the black hole to give the data to his daughter.
For that to happen, the wormhole has to exist, so the 5-D beings create it, knowing that its existence will lead to the human race surviving and the 5-D beings coming into existence at some point.
The 5-D beings also create the Tesseract within the black hole.
Essentially, it's like the chicken or egg. Which came first.
This might seem like a bit of a paradox but is theoretically possible when someone thinks about the implications of time travel.
